What LibraNest collects
LibraNest does not require you to create an account. The app’s core features work without signing in. The data you create (your books, statuses, and notes) is stored on your device.
- Books you add (title, author, ISBN, status).
- Reading notes you write (including optional page numbers).
- Optional settings stored on your device.
Camera permission (ISBN scanning)
LibraNest can use your device camera to scan ISBN barcodes. Camera access is optional and only used for scanning. We do not record video, take photos, or upload camera content.
Tip: You can always add books manually if you prefer not to grant camera access.
Third-party content (book metadata & covers)
If you scan or enter an ISBN, LibraNest may retrieve publicly available book metadata and cover images from third-party services (for example, OpenLibrary and/or Google Books). This helps fill in book details automatically.
- Requested data may include title, author, publisher, description, categories, and cover images.
- Requests are made only when you scan/enter an ISBN or refresh book details.
Data storage
Your personal library and notes are stored locally on your device. LibraNest does not require cloud sync by default. If you back up your device (iCloud or computer backup), your LibraNest data may be included as part of that backup, depending on your device settings.
Analytics, tracking, and advertising
LibraNest does not sell your data. We do not show third-party ads inside the app. If analytics are used in the future, this policy will be updated and you will be informed through an updated version of this page.
Your choices
- You can use LibraNest without granting camera access by adding books manually.
- You can delete books and notes at any time inside the app.
- You can stop third-party lookups by not using ISBN import features.
Children’s privacy
LibraNest is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
