Andrea is a leader in language accessibility, ensuring language is no barrier to essential services. She founded New York’s and California’s first Language Access Offices, shaping statewide policies. With over a decade in government, she builds sustainable language programs. Fluent in Spanish, English, and proficient in French and Turkish, Andrea brings a global perspective. As Founder and CEO of WAI, she creates inclusive communication strategies, driven by the belief that language access is key to equity and trust.
Chief Technology Officer
As Chief Technology Officer at WAI, Yusuf drives digital transformation, enhancing accessibility and multilingual communication. With deep expertise in web development, UX/UI design, instructional design, and AI technologies, he creates user-friendly, scalable, and intelligent platforms. Proficient in a wide range of advanced tools, Yusuf builds multilingual portals, LMS integrations, and AI-driven solutions. He is a strong advocate for inclusive and accessible technology, ensuring digital solutions are intuitive, culturally responsive, and bridge communication gaps.
Multilingual Policy & Intercultural Strategy
Arcadia Ascanio is a consultant in intercultural communication, policy design, and higher education management, with 15+ years of expertise in quality assurance and institutional strategy. She holds a master’s in International Cooperation and is pursuing a PhD in Communication and Interculturality. At WAI, Arcadia develops inclusive communication strategies, enhances cross-cultural engagement, and supports equitable, globally informed policy design.
Language Access & Justice Equity
Jacquie is a consultant specializing in language access and justice initiatives. With 20+ years of experience, she improves access for LEP court users through plain language forms and multilingual content. Her expertise includes language policies, interpreter standards, and data collection. Previously at NCSC and the California Judicial Council, she designed programs for immigrant populations. Jacquie holds a master’s in social work and is dedicated to equitable access.
Research & Data Analysis
Keara is a data analyst specializing in evaluation and multilingual accessibility. With a Master of Public Policy, she focuses on impact measurement, data analysis, and reporting. Her expertise includes survey design and performance tracking. At WAI, Keara assesses language access needs and fosters evidence-based strategies for growth.
Linguistic Diversity & Language Access
Olivia, a linguist and Ph.D. candidate at CUNY, studies linguistic diversity and language access, focusing on minoritized languages in NYC. She analyzes public language representation and promotes inclusion through research and policy. At WAI, she supports multilingual initiatives, ensuring linguistic diversity is valued in public services and community engagement.
Workforce Equity & Training Development
Sebastian is a DEIB leader focused on inclusive policies and training. As Director at NJ TRANSIT, he empowers employees and promotes equity. Previously at Citigroup, he led global inclusion efforts. With expertise in workforce development, he has worked with IBM, Colgate-Palmolive, and NY State agencies. He holds a master’s from Cornell and advocates for language access and cultural inclusion.
Instructional Designer
Mehmet Fatih is an instructional designer with 20+ years of expertise in curriculum development and digital learning. He creates interactive, accessible learning materials, combining pedagogy and technology to design inclusive educational experiences. With a Bachelor’s degree and an organic online following of 10,000+, Mehmet connects with educators and learners globally, shaping the future of digital education.
